Mommessin, Morey Saint Denis Forge Tart Vintage:2019 A whiff of volatile acidity torrefaction A whiff of volatile acidity does not really materially diminish the appeal of the earthy and markedly sauvage inflected aromas of both red and dark pinot fruit that display a top note of various floral elements there is good underlying material and my predicted range accords the benefit of the doubt that more will be forthcoming Otherwise there is good volume and punch to the slightly less concentrated flavors that still manage to retain solid power on the lightly mineral inflected finish that delivers fine length This is aromatically quite similar to the grand vin but not quite as perfumed and complex
